Their photo. Their cover.

A customer sent us this photo of Oliver. We made this cover from it.

Oliver, a Boston terrier with a white blaze down his face and a blue collar, lying on a rug and looking up at the camera — the photo his owner sent.
Photo
Goodnight, Oliver: the same Boston terrier painted lying on his side in a plush bed beneath the title lettering, ears up, dark eyes to the reader and a happy open smile — the same white blaze, the same blue collar — one paw over a teddy with a bow in a lamplit bedroom.
Cover

“OMG, it’s so cute! It captures Oliver’s little snaggle tooth perfectly — it looks exactly like him.”

Amanda G., Escalon, CA, Oliver’s owner

The story

For the person who always plays once more.

Your pet wants to make a present for the person who keeps the bowl full and always finds time for another game. A smooth white pebble seems promising, except for its stubborn brown speck. Polishing does not remove it, and attempts at a grand presentation only make the small gift harder to see. A familiar knock at the kitchen door reminds your pet what the recipient actually enjoys: a tiny shared game that can turn an ordinary moment into time together. A crooked twig gives the pebble a quiet answering tap. Then an effort to make everything look neater breaks the twig. Your pet must choose whether to hide the mishap or offer the gift honestly. The loved person remains outside the pictures, present through a voice and a familiar routine. This is a gentle appreciation story about noticing someone, making an effort and giving a present they can enjoy with you again tomorrow.

Who it’s for: For ages two to six, and for grown-ups receiving a thoughtful gift from the animal they love. Especially suited to pet-parent appreciation, birthdays and everyday thank-yous.

Questions

Who receives the present in the story?

The recipient is the loved person addressed as you. A familiar voice and shared routine make that relationship present; the book does not invent or illustrate a second personalized human.

Does the present become perfect at the end?

The stone keeps its speck and the twig stays crooked and broken. The recipient values the effort and the game they can enjoy together, without a magical repair or replacement.

Is the gift for a particular holiday?

No holiday or specific family role is named in the story. It can be given for a birthday, a thank-you or simply to someone who enjoys spending time with their pet.

Does the pet carry stones in its mouth?

No. The pebble stays on the ground and is moved with gentle nudges. The story uses light leaves and a short blunt twig, with no tools, ties, sharp splinters or swallowing.

What do I get for $69.99?

A 40-page 8.5-inch square hardcover, printed just for you. Your pet is the star of every picture, and their name is on the cover. A page at the front has a note in your own words. A real person checks the book before it prints. Shipping in the U.S. is free. If it arrives damaged, we send a new one for free.

Can I see more than the cover first?

Yes, one page. After the cover, you can see one page from inside the book with your pet in it, free. We paint the rest after you order. A real person checks every picture against your photo before it prints.

What makes a good photo?

One pet, facing the camera, in good light. Daylight near a window is best. The face, colors and markings should be sharp. Skip heavy shadows, busy backgrounds and photos with two pets. A phone photo is fine.

Is the art made with AI?

Yes. We make the pictures with AI from the photo you send. They are not painted by hand. A real person on our team checks every book before it prints.

What happens to my photo?

We keep it, with what you typed and the art we made. That way we can reprint your book if something goes wrong, and make your next book without a new photo. To have it deleted, email support@illustratedyou.com, or ask us to close your account. No public gallery. No ads without asking you first. We don’t train AI on your photos, and we set up the AI services we use so they don’t train their general AI models on them either.
