Pick a story. Upload a clear photo of your pet and type their name. We paint your pet into every picture of the story. Then we print it as an 8.5-inch square hardcover book.

Yes. We generate the illustrations with AI from the photo you send. They are not painted by hand. A real person on our team checks every book before it prints. We don’t train AI on your photos, and we set up the AI services we use so they don’t train their general AI models on them either.

That is the whole point. You see the cover made from your photo before you pay. We keep what makes your pet look like your pet: the face, ears, colors, markings and size. A sharp photo of their face in good light works best. Before the book prints, a person checks every page against your photo. If a page looks off, we paint it again. If the book that arrives still is not them, we repaint it or refund you.

Most books arrive in about two weeks, so there is plenty of time. The arrival date shown at checkout for your address is the one that counts. Mail runs late the week before Christmas, so earlier is safer.

Any pet we can see clearly in your photo. Most people send dogs and cats. Rabbits, birds, horses, guinea pigs, lizards and more are welcome too, at the same price. A few stories need a certain kind of pet, like one small enough to fit under a bench. That book’s page will tell you. The star has to be a pet. It cannot be a person or a wild animal. We check your photo as soon as you upload it. If we cannot use it, we tell you right away, before you pay.

We keep them, and you can have them deleted at any time. We keep your photo, what you typed, and the art we made. That way we can reprint a damaged book, fix a mistake, and make your next book without a new upload. To have them deleted, email support@illustratedyou.com, or ask us to close your account. A person here will then erase your photo, what you typed, and the files we made. Your pet stays private either way: no public gallery, no searchable books, and no ads without asking you first. We don’t train AI on your photos, and we set up the AI services we use so they don’t train their general AI models on them either. Inside our shop, it is seen by the person who checks your book against your photo. It also passes through the AI, printing and email services we use to make and send the book. Books start at $64.99. Each one is a hardcover made just for your pet. Each book’s page shows its price.

We make and print every book just for you, so it takes a little time. Most orders arrive in about two weeks. It takes a couple of days to paint the book and have a person check it. Then it is printed, bound and shipped. The date shown for your address before you pay is the one that counts. We email you a tracking link as soon as it ships.

We make each book just for you, so we cannot take it back if you change your mind. Check your book when it arrives — if it turns up damaged, misprinted, badly bound, or not the book you ordered because of a mistake on our side, tell us straight away with photos and we will replace it free. Email support@illustratedyou.com with your order number and clear photos. We do not replace a book you changed your mind about, a book damaged after it reached you, or a problem caused by what was sent with the order.

No. We only sell the printed hardcover. There is no digital download.

One pet, facing the camera, in good light. Daylight near a window is best. We can only paint what we can see, so the face, colors and markings should be sharp. Skip heavy shadows, busy backgrounds, costumes, and photos with two pets. A phone photo is fine. Just make sure it is in focus and the head is not cut off.

The cover and one page, yes. The whole book, no. Send one photo and your email, and we paint their cover for free in about a minute, before you pay. If it is not them, paint it again or walk away and pay nothing. You can also ask to see one page from inside the book, free. We paint the rest of the book after you order, and there is no proof for you to approve. Instead, a person here checks every page against your photo before it prints. If a page looks off, we paint it again. If the pet inside does not match the cover you liked, we repaint it or refund you.

Stripe handles checkout. You can pay with any major credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our systems. We never see or store your card number.

Check your book when it arrives — if it turns up damaged, misprinted, badly bound, or not the book you ordered because of a mistake on our side, tell us straight away with photos and we will replace it free. Write to us on our support page with your order number and clear photos. We reply within one business day. If we approve it, we send you the same book with the same details, for free. You do not need to send the old one back unless we ask. This covers damage in shipping, printing and binding mistakes, and a book that does not match your order because of our error. It does not cover a change of mind or damage after the book reaches you.

No. Our books star pets. If a photo shows a person instead of a pet, we turn it away at upload. Any future book starring children would get its own consent, privacy and safety review first.
