The story
A little seed has its own idea of soon.
Your pet has a sunny corner and plans for a splendid yellow sunflower. The seed goes into the earth, and the watching begins. By the end of the first morning, the garden has produced no flower at all. As more mornings pass, your pet discovers what can help: gentle watering when the soil is dry, clearing a fallen leaf and leaving the seed undisturbed. A thirsty bumblebee gives a favorite warm bark a useful new job beside the rain saucer, and a closer look reveals the first tiny shoot. Spring days become summer weeks. Leaves grow, a bud appears, and the pet learns which things need care and which can manage by themselves. The eventual flower is a reward to admire and a place for a returning visitor to find breakfast. A quiet garden story with comic impatience, physical acts of care and an ending that leaves the flower growing.
Who it’s for: For ages two to six, little gardeners, children waiting for something to happen, and families who enjoy noticing small changes outdoors.
Questions
Does the sunflower grow in a single day?
No. The story clearly moves through successive mornings and then weeks, from planting in spring to flowering in summer. The plant never grows instantly because the pet wishes harder.
Is this a gardening instruction book?
It is a fictional read-aloud about a pet caring for one sunflower. It shows simple observation and gentle care without offering a planting timetable or replacing instructions for a particular seed variety.
Does the story tell children just to sit and wait?
The hero has useful work to do while growth takes its time, including watching the soil, moving a fallen leaf and creating a dry landing place beside a shallow saucer.
Can a large animal star beside the sunflower?
Yes, when the animal can move and nudge light objects on dry land. The art keeps the animal’s natural size rather than shrinking it, and adjusts the viewpoint around the plant.
What do I get for $69.99?
A 40-page 8.5-inch square hardcover, printed just for you. Your pet is the star of every picture, and their name is on the cover. A page at the front has a note in your own words. A real person checks the book before it prints. Shipping in the U.S. is free. If it arrives damaged, we send a new one for free.
Can I see more than the cover first?
Yes, one page. After the cover, you can see one page from inside the book with your pet in it, free. We paint the rest after you order. A real person checks every picture against your photo before it prints.
What makes a good photo?
One pet, facing the camera, in good light. Daylight near a window is best. The face, colors and markings should be sharp. Skip heavy shadows, busy backgrounds and photos with two pets. A phone photo is fine.
Is the art made with AI?
Yes. We make the pictures with AI from the photo you send. They are not painted by hand. A real person on our team checks every book before it prints.
What happens to my photo?
We keep it, with what you typed and the art we made. That way we can reprint your book if something goes wrong, and make your next book without a new photo. To have it deleted, email support@illustratedyou.com, or ask us to close your account. No public gallery. No ads without asking you first. We don’t train AI on your photos, and we set up the AI services we use so they don’t train their general AI models on them either.
