The story

Every goodnight in the garden, and the last one saved for them.

The day is ending, and your pet is saying goodnight to all of it. Goodnight to the sun sliding down behind the hill. Goodnight to the flowers folding up, to the little birds with their heads under their wings, to the still pond and the sleepy frog, to the tall trees and the wind. Then the back door glows and in you go: goodnight to the supper bowl, one enormous yawn, and then the tuck-in, bear and all. From under the blanket the moon climbs the window, the stars blink on one by one, and the whole warm house goes to sleep — until everything your pet said goodnight to is asleep, and so is your pet. Amazing Book

Is it actually calming, or will it wind my child up?

Calm is the whole design. The lines are short, the refrain repeats, and every page moves one step closer to sleep — from the garden at sunset, to the kitchen, to bed, to dreams. There are no surprises and no loud moments; the book is meant to read the same way on the hundredth night as the first.

My pet isn’t a dog or a cat. Does the story still work?

Yes — this is the gentlest story we make, and nothing in it asks the hero to travel or do tricks. A rabbit, a guinea pig, a ferret, a bird that comes out to the garden — any animal that can sit on grass and curl up in a bed — says goodnight to the day and settles in, painted from your photo. An animal that lives only in water is the one this story can’t place: it would end up on a lawn.

What makes a good photo?

One pet, facing the camera, in good light. Daylight near a window is best. The face, colors and markings should be sharp. Skip heavy shadows, busy backgrounds and photos with two pets. A phone photo is fine.

Is the art made with AI?

Yes. We make the pictures with AI from the photo you send. They are not painted by hand. A real person on our team checks every book before it prints.

What happens to my photo?

We keep it, with what you typed and the art we made. That way we can reprint your book if something goes wrong, and make your next book without a new photo. To have it deleted, email support@illustratedyou.com, or ask us to close your account. No public gallery. No ads without asking you first. We don’t train AI on your photos, and we set up the AI services we use so they don’t train their general AI models on them either.
