Their photo. Their cover.

A customer sent us this photo of Oliver. We made this cover from it.

Oliver, a Boston terrier with a white blaze down his face and a blue collar, lying on a rug and looking up at the camera — the photo his owner sent.
Photo
Goodnight, Oliver: the same Boston terrier painted lying on his side in a plush bed beneath the title lettering, ears up, dark eyes to the reader and a happy open smile — the same white blaze, the same blue collar — one paw over a teddy with a bow in a lamplit bedroom.
Cover

“OMG, it’s so cute! It captures Oliver’s little snaggle tooth perfectly — it looks exactly like him.”

Amanda G., Escalon, CA, Oliver’s owner

The story

Stripes, spots, and an Easter picture big enough to share.

Your pet has a plan for a bright striped Easter picture on the front step. A nearby hen is equally proud of her spotted one. Then a small breeze flips their paper eggs and mixes the colors together. Sorting the colors is easy; remembering the exact arrangements is harder. Each attempt feels too stiff, too tight or too loose, and turning the pieces to their plain backs makes the pictures dull. Your pet notices that an especially loved blue piece would fill the empty space in the hen’s display, and gives it away. The hen answers with her favorite pink piece. As the friends work, their arrangements grow together into something neither planned: one broad, cheerful picture with an open place to sit. A returning breeze brings one last practical problem, solved with smooth stones at the lifting edges. The finished display keeps the colors, welcomes the differences, and has enough room for a companion and a visitor.

Who it’s for: For ages 2–6, as an Easter basket keepsake or a colorful spring read. The celebration is secular, and the decorations are flat paper shapes throughout.

Questions

Is there an egg hunt or a counting puzzle?

No. The story is about two Easter decorations mixed by a breeze. The patterns are broad stripes, spots and solid colors, with no hidden-object hunt, required counts, numbered clues or exact puzzle for a child to solve.

Are the eggs real, and does my pet eat Easter treats?

Every egg in the story is a flat paper cutout with a colored front and a plain back. There are no real eggs, chocolate, jellybeans or sweets in the pictures, and neither animal eats paper or stones.

Is it a religious Easter story?

No. It is a secular spring celebration built around making a colorful decoration and sharing favorite pieces. There are no religious scenes or teachings, and the hen is a fictional neighbor rather than an Easter Bunny character.

Which kinds of pets fit the story?

The hero needs to move comfortably on dry ground and gently nudge lightweight paper and a smooth pebble using its nose, beak or a natural limb. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and larger land pets such as donkeys can be staged naturally. Fully aquatic pets and animals unable to leave their enclosure cannot star in this garden story.

What do I get for $69.99?

A 40-page 8.5-inch square hardcover, printed just for you. Your pet is the star of every picture, and their name is on the cover. A page at the front has a note in your own words. A real person checks the book before it prints. Shipping in the U.S. is free. If it arrives damaged, we send a new one for free.

Can I see more than the cover first?

Yes, one page. After the cover, you can see one page from inside the book with your pet in it, free. We paint the rest after you order. A real person checks every picture against your photo before it prints.

What makes a good photo?

One pet, facing the camera, in good light. Daylight near a window is best. The face, colors and markings should be sharp. Skip heavy shadows, busy backgrounds and photos with two pets. A phone photo is fine.

Is the art made with AI?

Yes. We make the pictures with AI from the photo you send. They are not painted by hand. A real person on our team checks every book before it prints.

What happens to my photo?

We keep it, with what you typed and the art we made. That way we can reprint your book if something goes wrong, and make your next book without a new photo. To have it deleted, email support@illustratedyou.com, or ask us to close your account. No public gallery. No ads without asking you first. We don’t train AI on your photos, and we set up the AI services we use so they don’t train their general AI models on them either.
