The story
A stolen prism. A shadow that lies.
A stolen prism is front-page news, and the thief’s shadow looks exactly like your pet. The hero knows the picture is wrong. A touch can replay the last shadow cast on a surface, but even a perfect replay may show a lie. Three clues inside the museum point toward someone who can forge an outline while hiding a very different body. An owl curator agrees to watch the next gallery, and your pet sets out to make the thief reveal more than one side of the story. The investigation bursts onto connected rooftops, where an unexpected danger interrupts the chase. When the chase leaves the thief in danger, your pet must choose between the stolen prism and a trapped wing.
Who it’s for: For mystery fans ages 6–9 who enjoy spotting clues, clearing a false accusation and following a rooftop chase. A birthday or everyday comic starring their own dog or cat.
Questions
Can readers work out the mystery themselves?
There are three visible clues to follow, and the shadow power’s limits are explained in the story. The solution depends on those clues and a planned stakeout. A rooftop chase adds action after the investigation.
Is the hero blamed at the end?
No. The evidence clears the pet’s name and the stolen prism is returned. A wing is briefly caught beneath a roof-pane frame during the chase, but the hero frees it without injury. The ending is settled and quiet.
Can a short-tailed dog or cat star?
Yes. Any dog or cat can star, including short-tailed, tailless pets and pets with missing limbs. The false shadow copies your pet’s own outline, so the mystery belongs to them.

What makes a good photo?
One pet, facing the camera, in good light. Daylight near a window is best. The face, colors and markings should be sharp. Skip heavy shadows, busy backgrounds and photos with two pets. A phone photo is fine.
Is the art made with AI?
Yes. We make the pictures with AI from the photo you send. They are not painted by hand. A real person on our team checks every book before it prints.
What happens to my photo?
We keep it, with what you typed and the art we made. That way we can reprint your book if something goes wrong, and make your next book without a new photo. To have it deleted, email support@illustratedyou.com, or ask us to close your account. No public gallery. No ads without asking you first. We don’t train AI on your photos, and we set up the AI services we use so they don’t train their general AI models on them either.
